Bless me father it’s been quite a long time since my last confession… er blog.
The big news this week is that Josh and Molly are coming over to see us in late August. Josh is staying for a month and Molly for four or five. They’re arriving on the 26th and we’re all very excited.
One of the objectives, apart from just hanging out, is for Molly to do some serious focusing on getting her portfolio up to be a good representation of what she’s capable of. I’m looking forward to this too. I was thinking that it would be a good opportunity for me to have a go at some stuff too. We’ve been talking about doing some large canvases, using big colour, doing some sculpting in clay, some life casting, some welding, painting with the CNC might be interesting…photography, furniture design, sewing stuff etc. So many things to try, so little time.
Whilst Josh is here, we hope to do some beach travel and stuff of that nature. We’ll see.
Matilda and Phoebe are jumping around at the prospect. It may be surprising to you to know that little ol’ Feeb has been saving for this moment for 16 months. For that entire time she has been single minded in saving her $5 pocket money every week. That’s 68 weeks….since 4 months after her 5th birthday! In that time, she has only once bought herself some sweets, and that after she’d earned some extra for washing my truck. The money that Matilda saved to buy herself a computer with, Phoebe sent to Molly and Josh towards their tickets! $340 total which equates to a hundred quid for each of them! Not bad for a toothless little git!
Here she is as a mad scientist at a recent dress up for school. (It's that white fleece I had Mum)
Matilda went as a poet! I didn't get any decent pics of her sadly.
Last week they both did their Guide's promise... which involves reciting a little phrase of allegiance to country and Queen, much as I did as a scout... almost the same words in fact. "I promise that I will do my best to do my duty to God, to serve the Queen, and my country, and to help other people, and to keep the Guide law". Luckily, despite nerves, neither of them forgot the words!
The proud Mum...
Daile's been cleaning windows the whole day! Me I've been putting my feet up... he he.
