Tea for Tao

In a world that is so technologically complex, where it's possible to hear the flow of blood in your baby's unborn heart, where it's possible to communicate across the globe with moving pictures at no cost, where it's possible for an ordinary person with a need for thrills to buy a flying suit and glide down a death defying valley of jagged rocks...with enough control to be able to almost touch the rocks with their hands as they blat past.....why is it so hard to get a decent cup of tea?

Not that I'm really complaining....

But I'm in a hospital bed (again) and I'm looking at my breakfast, and every morning they bring me a cup with a lid on it that's full of hot water, and next to it is a tea bag.  Everyone I know knows that you have to put the two together when the water is boiling and if you don't there's really no point.....

I don't get it.  Nobody's thought of a clever way around it....

Super Ned

I just had to post this....Ned is such a fit dog, poised to leap to our defense at all times...like a killer ninja dog....

or maybe not!

A few things in July...

Well, things are getting tighter by the minute with the money...since I'm not getting all that much art sold and
the rent still has to be paid.  So, finally we're selling the old ute!  It's been a hard thing to get to since we all love the thing, especially the girls.  I got them to give it a wash last weekend, and scrape off the stickers from the back window....i'm mean, they're so passe anyway right?

and this week I took the mutt down to the beach because I was down at the Gold Coast to get a bit of paper signed..  He's never been on the beach before...we don't get down there all that much, especially at this time of the year cos it's too cold to get in the water.  Ned absolutely loved it.

...and whilst I was down at the X-ray place getting checked out for a chest infection I've had recently....I came across this.... I never knew that having embossing on a bit of toilet paper was 'luxury'!  Ha ha, it has to be the height of crassness doesn't it?

The girls had a bit of a sad Friday last week.  They're both really mad about animals of all kinds and a few weeks ago we got some rats to go with the Turtle, cat, dog and fish.  However, one of them has been getting weaker and weaker as it developed a respiratory disease that apparently is very contageous to the others.  On Friday I had booked an appointment with the vet for after school, and as we were driving over there, the little rat died in Phoebe's hands.  Needless to say they were absolutely devastated.

Here she is....just before they buried her.  Sweet little thing she was.
