Summer Holiday....

Well, we decided that, despite our impoverished state, we'd be better off as a family if we at least went to do a four day trip to Stradbroke....so that 'something' that felt like a holiday happened during the kids 6 week summer holiday.  We went with a new tent, actually with two new tents that had been given (!!) to us by Chris, the guy who I took over the art school from.  They're in really good condition, and actually, even though they're both dome tents, one of them is so big that we didn't even need the other.

The pics are all black and white (except for the iPhone panorama pics) because I was trying to be like a French photographer that Molly sent me a link to recently....but actually, some of them are better in colour.  (you'll just have to take my word for it eh!)

Here's my darlin' wife...to start us off -

This was a panorama of the beach next to our camp site.....lovely and deserted!

We normally take the Red Cat catamaran, but this time went by the old ferry....which I liked a lot more cos there's no cafe...and therefore no mad queue to get a beer/tea/bun or whatever in the 50 mins it takes to cross.  Why people feel compelled to queue when it's such a short trip has always been a mystery to me.

Matilda is actually winded in this picture, having just fallen off the swing...just after I told her not to because I was under it!  She always smiles when she's hurt....bless her.

Normally we get onto Flinders beach here...but there's been a lot of sea activity since we were last on the island and it's now closed off...as you can see!

Always nice to be home again though.....:-)
