Fading, and lights of one sort or another....

We went to a barbecue yesterday with some old mates of Daile's, and the kids were pretty well behaved and polite, which is always nice eh? Tilda felt a bit crap towards the end, and Phoebe just plain wore herself out. These pics show Phoebe getting the idea to collect flowers in their garden, which she then did to excess, and the other two are in the car on the way back.

Tonight we went out to look at the lights on the houses, which on some streets locally are on every single house. I hate to think what the power bills must be like, and its only the 2nd of Dec!

Whilst we were out, Phoebe asked me to take pictures of the stars. Its funny cos there are none of the constellations that I've grown up with. On the plus side, there's not usually much cloud up there, and they don't tend to do the street lights here in the same way as the UK. They do have them of course, but they're really low output....just enough to avoid hitting stuff, but not enough to put on your make up, like in the UK....(I'm talking in the third person about the make up!)
This pic is of a constellation known here as 'The Pot'. Bit more obvious than 'The Bear' I think, but then everyone knows this one, much like our 'The Plough'.
